Chapter 23 Sponsors Young Eagle at Air Academy 2004

For several years chapter 23 has given hundreds of Young Eagles rides to local youth. As part of the program, each flight the chapter gives earns $1 towards sponsoring a Young Eagle to the Air Academy http://www.eaa.org/education/airacademy.html at Oshkosh, WI. In past years we have donated our credits to other chapters to help them sponsor someone in their area. Well that changed this year! This year chapter 23 sponsored Cody Mast. Cody took his first Young Eagles flight with Bill Oberg in his Cessna 175. Cody got to operate the controls for over 45 minutes as he piloted the airplane over Park City and Heber. He is a natural!

Cody went to Air Academy in July 2004. He thoroughly enjoyed the week-long experience. He built a flyable model airplane and a rocket. He also got to fly in the EAA Young Eagles RV-6A – in the left seat.

Cody recommends the program to other children and says he would like to go again when he is old enough for the next stage (16 – 17 year old).

Cody wants to have a career in aviation. He has completed ground school and wants to begin flight training soon. He would like to solo on his 16th birthday.

  Good luck, Cody!
