Young Eagle Flights

A. Young Eagle Coordinator Mike Guarino organizes the troops in preparation for flying kids in Mt. Pleasant on Saturday the 26th. We wonder if he has his trademark "Listen UP" programmed into his bullhorn.
B. The official Young Eagle crew for the Mt. Pleasant rally was from left to right, Mike Guarino (YE Coordinator), Don Brock, Shane Rosanova and Quinn Spencer (Asst. YE Coordinator).
C. Two Young Eagles return from their first flight around the Mt. Pleasant area in a Mooney M20J owned by Dave Smellie of Ogden and flown by EAA 23 member Shane Rosanova.
D. EAA 23 member Carl Wengle maneuvers his Earth Star homebuilt on the ramp prior to taking another Young Eagle up for a flight. When we didn't have enough planes to fly the kids Carl jumped right in and helped us throughout the day.
E. YE Pilot Shane Rosanova stands with two sisters from a family of 4 kids that became Young Eagles at Saturday's fly-in. The smaller sister, Alice, is deaf and speech impaired. It was truly a heart-warming moment when Shane turned around and saw her with eyes as big as silver dollars pointing excitedly out the window at her home below the plane.
F. Although it was a little warm and there was some cumulus build-ups around Mt. Pleasant, the rides were only a little bumpy for these last two Young Eagles. They were also the last of their family to go for a flight.
